Mage Leveling Guide – Outland

The outland is more wide open and makes it easier to earn experience. You’ll likely be doing less searching for areas to gind and to quests in.

Mage Leveling Guide for Level 58 and 59 – You could go through all of the instances in Azerothian such as LBRS, UBRS, Dire Mauls, Stratholme. But Outland is really much much better because there are just quests everywhere! Go for the quests around the Dark Portal and make your way to Thrallmar.

Mage Leveling Guide for Level 60 and 61 – You can start by going to Hellfire Ramparts which is good for mage drops. Each boss actually drops you an item that you can use for awhile. More important, you can start AoEing. I would choose Bone Wastes. Also check out south of Honor Hold to find vultures. They’ll be really easy to AoE and you can grind them super fast.

Mage Leveling Guide for Level 62 – Most of the quests here require you to grind different mobs and you get a good experience boost. To level a mage to 63 quickly, follow the quest lines and stay out of PVP trouble.

Mage Leveling Guide for Level 63 – Zangarmarsh is the next zone for questing. The naga camps around the lakes or the Broken camps are great spots. You can AoE the bog giants pretty easily because they have weak hits and they die very easily. They also drop Motes of Life which are quite valuable.

The ogres in NW Zangarmarsh are good to grind, but be careful as there are sometimes casters among them. AoE only works against melees – a single caster could ruin you.

Mage Leveling Guide for Level 64 – You will open up Coilfang instances and want to finish up the quests in East Zanga and move on to the West.

Mage Leveling Guide for Levels 65 to 57 – Terokkar Forrest has several quests and most are near the Auchindoun Crater. The bet mobs to grind here are Cultists and the Netherweb Spiders. It’s fairly easy to gather spiders and AoE them.

When you gring these guys you’ll get alot of Netherweb Skills from their bodies and can be used to craft some of the best pre-raiding gear in game.

Mage Leveling Guide Levels 68 to 70

These last two levels shouldn’t be that tough. I leveled a mage in Outland and opened alot of new instances and just flew through these levels.

In Netherstorm I found a sweet grinding place at Manaforges. There are blood elves that are close together and they have some great drops. If you bring another AoEer or a priest to keep you alive while you grind, you can easily grind one level per day.

Another great questing spot is Kirin Tor Village. It is full of quests and mobs that drop nice motes.

Many of these are tips I picked up out of various leveling guides. I was very skeptical at first but after I bought a guide I was hooked. Check out these guides for more information:
