Talent Specs – WoW Mage Leveling Guide
You likely already know and most would probably say the same that there are 2 trees that are worth going at. These are Fire and Frost. There are some differences between the two.
Fire will give you better damage and allow you to kill single targets better while a Frost mage can control the targets and can kill multiple targets. Fire will require more mana and downtime but you can usually beat enemies faster. Frost can take more time to beat enemies but you can beat several mobs at the same time.
I would just try out both specs to see which one you play with better, maybe during one of the earlier levels.
If you want to know exactly what I do then here we go. For 1 to about 40 use fire and then change the spec to frost. What you don’t want to do is change to Frost and then give up a few days later. Make sure you play for a few levels to get a feel for the Frost spec because it really is fun.
Once you get to level 45 or so and you know both specs pretty well then you can choose which one you want to use until 70.
Arcane is a decent supporting build but you really should not use more than 10 talent points for it.
